Summary of Position
The Director of Sales – West Coast supports the VP of Sales & Customer Service and works closely with the sales team to grow client relationships and drive sales. This role manages a group of key client accounts, helps identify new business opportunities, and ensures clients receive outstanding service. The Director of Sales – West Coast also provides leadership, coaching, and support to the sales team while helping achieve company sales goals and strengthen client partnerships.
Responsibilities
• Possess strong knowledge of SHM’s departmental infrastructure to help team strategy and decision making.
• Manage and service an assigned roster of key and VIP client accounts.
• Support the sales team with “open door” availability to provide direction, advice, and expertise on navigating client projects.
• Lead the weekly Sales Team L10 meeting.
• Monitor sales performance and year-to-date results, including: o Revenue growth compared to goals.
o Year-over-year performance.
o New client revenue generation.
o Attend quarterly BC sales review meetings.
• Provide training and coaching on: o Client history and account transitions.
o Commonsku operating system.
o Industry knowledge, suppliers, and decorating methods.
o Standard operating procedures and best practices.
• Ensure professional SHM customer service standards in a timely manner: o Incoming phone calls being answered and forwarding voicemail callbacks.
o Assist with vetting new client opportunities, referrals, and team assignments.
• Assist with building supplier relationships and efficiencies beyond day-to-day transactions.
• Approve team PTO requests and assist with workload coordination.
• This role requires the ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
