
Put some suntan lotion on and walk through your office. You'll get a lot of reaction. You'll set off all kinds of triggers for people. Scent is a powerful catalyst. Some of the big guns, from the beverage industry to retailers, are branding their products with scents.
You may not be able to do exactly that, but you can still use the senses to capture attention. Who doesn't love the smell of suntan lotion with its memories of relaxing on a sun-filled beach? Or the smell of chocolate chip cookies? Or just a nice fresh scent?
For your next promotion, use scented products to draw attention and/or elicit fond memories that attach feeling good to your product or service. There are basics, like air fresheners and candles you can imprint with your logo and/or message, but there are a host of others like bandanas, pens and stress balloons you can use, too.
